Inspired by a trip to Mallorca in Summer 2022, we because obsessed with the beauty of ceramic soap dishes. We searched and searched and could not find one we loved on the market. We turned to one of our favorite Portland, Maine-based ceramicists to dream up a collection of soap dishes that felt like us and that felt like her. We adore what Aimee came up with! Fits a traditional bar of soap and an artisanal one.

Objet Aimée is a close translation to loved object in French and the studio name for a collection of handmade ceramics by Aimee McLaughlin. Every object is an exploration of shape and color, past and present, time and temperature, love and heartbreak.
Producing ceramics for both functional and decorative use, every piece is either thrown on a wheel or hand built, then decorated, glazed and fired in a kiln. Variations in size and appearance are expected and celebrated as part of the inherent beauty of handmade objects.
